APC Galaxy 5500 UPS installed at the newly established Cambridge Velodrome
YHI Power Systems have completed a UPS installation at the new Cambridge Velodrome. The requirement for the velodrome was back up for emergency lighting, The lighting system consists of sixty eight 1kW metal Halide floodlights. In the event of a power failure, this lighting needs to remain on for a minimum of four minutes, enabling cyclists to abandon either racing or training and exit the track. Located in the Main Switch Room, The UPS selected for the install is a 120kVA/108kW APC/MGE (by Schneider Electric) Galaxy 5500.
